The evening schedule

The future of farming continues to raise questions and concerns among the agricultural community, so we have invited DEFRA and the Rural Payments Agency to come and chat to our farming community and clarify some of the issues that are causing most worries.

Neville Cavendish, head of Co-Design for the DEFRA Future Farming and Countryside Programme, will present the ideas that frame DEFRA’s vision for the future of farming in the UK.

A representative from the Rural Payments Agency will then add the practicalities of how farmers and landowners access payments and funding for the various schemes.

To add weight to the ideas, a farmer already involved in Co-Design will share experiences and offer advice on how farmers and landowners can get the best outcomes from their own farming operations within the new landscape.

After hearing from the three speakers, the audience will split into small groups and, over a starter course, engage in a workshop style activity. This will inform the panel discussion later in the evening.

Panel discussion, with members of the local farming community, plus guest speakers. This is a chance for the audience to ask questions in an open forum.

Presentation from FarmWatch Ltd.

Posh beer and even posher burgers and a chance for informal chat and discussions.se
